Port Royal Scenes

The Town of Port Royal is conveniently located between the Beaufort River and Battery Creek in the beautiful South Carolina Lowcountry. Port Royal is within close proximity to the Historic City of Beaufort, the Marine Corps Air Station, and Parris Island Marine Corps Recruit Depot. History buffs, site seekers, nature lovers and those who enjoy the peace and quiet of a private walking community will enjoy time spent in our town. We take pride in Port Royal which offers a wide range of activities for the residents and visitors to the area.

If you are interested in the South, you must see Port Royal. The revitalization of our town has brought us several new businesses including specialty stores, gift shops, and restaurants offering a delicious variety of cuisine. Port Royal also has a wide range of recreational activities including The Sands Beach, the boardwalk & observation tower, and boat ramp. These are all located at the southern most tip of Port Royal Island at the intersection of the Beaufort River and Battery Creek. Come relax on The Sands Beach and have a peaceful picnic, then take a stroll down the boardwalk to the observation tower and watch the boats float by. Live Oaks Park is another spot to check out while you’re here. It is family oriented with an incredible playground, a covered oyster shed with fireplace and barbeque pit, tennis courts, basketball court, and a lighted roller hockey rink. All of these facilities are open to the public and can be reserved for special events. Intended to promote health and fitness, the Town of Port Royal’s Walking Trails consist of a 3.1 and a 5 mile walking and jogging path. The trails are marked and wind through the town village area, Live Oaks Park, Cypress Boardwalk, Sands Beach and Boardwalk, and the YMCA.
The Town of Port Royal offers a great deal to its residents, from a full service real estate agency, to the Town Hall and active neighborhood and merchant’s associations. Our residents take great pride in their neighborhood– this is a fresh, clean and safe place to visit, own a business and raise a family. Our town is also very proud of Port Royal Elementary. It is a public school that offers year-round studies for grades kindergarten through fifth, and has recently been remodeled to accommodate a rapidly growing student body. In addition Port Royal is fortunate to be the home to the new Keyserling Cancer Center. State of the art care will be provided here for patients from all over the southeast.

There are also several annual celebrations including the Soft Shell Crab Festival held every April. Come and let local restaurants satisfy your appetite with the best in soft shell crab fare. Also, we celebrate October Festival with a Festival fit for the boldest of party goers!
